JOB SUMMARY
The Pilot SIC serves the Pilot in Command for a flight or series of flights in accordance to the principals and procedures as required by FAR Part 135. The SIC reports directly to the Pilot and to the Captain on the flight for his or her conduct and execution of duties. The SIC is directly supervised by the Pilot and or the Chief Pilot except when in flight; at which time he or she is supervised directly by the PIC or Captain for the flight.
The SIC must meet the minimum qualifications as specified by the Federal Aviation Regulation
Part 135.39(b).
The SIC is responsible for the safety of his passengers and crew. He/she shall, before loading passengers, assign appropriate emergency evacuation duties to his crew. In the event there will be a passenger on board who will require assistance in the event of an emergency evacuation, a crew member or other passenger will be assigned to assist that person and be properly briefed by the pilot in command on procedures to be followed. Functions may be delegated to other personnel, however responsibility is retained.
The SIC must be highly knowledgeable of the Operations Manual, Operations Specifications, appropriate FARs, Airplane Flight Manuals, etc., and any other instructions pertinent to his duties.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES
• Assists in the preparation for flight.
• Assists the Captain in discharging safety responsibilities.
• Performs duties as assigned during flight preparation and in flight.
• Must be prepared to assume the duties of the pilot in command in the event the pilot in command is incapacitated.
• Must be knowledgeable of the Company Manual, Federal Aviation Administration Regulations,
• Operations Specifications, Flight Manuals, and other instructions pertinent to his duties.
• Under supervision of the PIC, plans flight assignments and obtains briefing information regarding purpose of the flight, weather, operating procedures, and special instructions.
• Is supervised in preparation of the flight plan considering such factors as altitude, terrain, weather, range, weight, cruise control data, airport facilities, and navigational aids.
• Ensures all required documentation, including aircraft documents, load manifest/dispatch, operations manual, aeronautical charts, etc. are on board the aircraft.
• Ensures the aircraft is pre-flighted, inspected, loaded, equipped, and manned for the assigned flight.
• Inspects or supervises the inspection of engines, fuselage and control surfaces for mechanical and structural soundness. Verifies communications and navigational equipment is functioning properly.
• Supervises loading and distribution of cargo and passengers and determines that weight and balance is within prescribed limitations.
• Ensures cargo is properly secured and provisions for passenger comfort and emergency equipment such as life rafts, life vests (as required) are on board.
• Prepares FAA flight plan for filing or provide appropriate information to the Comm. Center for the purpose of flight following.
• Operates aircraft at a favorable altitude, considering turbulence, oxygen requirements, passenger comfort, etc.
• Ensures all required flight logs, records, and maintenance forms are properly completed and submitted.
• Maintains a positive team attitude with flight crew members, maintenance technician, and communication specialist by working cohesively.
• Works independently and tolerates high stress levels while maintaining a good rapport with co-workers.
• Maintains ongoing knowledge of relevant aviation SOP’s.
• Performs other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS
Experience:
• Meet or exceed the following total flight experience:
o Total time – 1500 hours Airplane
o Multi-Engine  - 250 hours airplane multi-engine land
o PIC – 250 Airplane

Education:
Skills:
• The SIC must be highly knowledgeable of the Operations Manual, Operations Specifications, appropriate FARs, Airplane Flight Manuals, etc., and any other instructions pertinent to his/her duties.

Credentials/Licenses:
• Must hold, or be able to attain, ENTER MAKE AND MODEL OF AIRCRAFT
• Hold, or be eligible to hold, an unrestricted FAA ATP certificate
• Must hold of be able to attain a First Class Medical Certificate and maintain First Class Privileges | Job Description :

WORKING CONDITIONS AND MENTAL/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
• Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to do the following:
• Able to conduct activities requiring a moderate to rigorous amount of sitting, standing, walking, speaking and listening, static pushing, pulling, reaching and lifting (knuckle height and ankle height).
• Capable of lifting 75 lbs floor to bench height.
• Ability to hear routine aircraft noises.
• Maintains a “duty” weight (body weight + uniform/equipment) of less than 220 lbs.
• Must be able to wear a commercially available respirator mask with proper fit when required.
• Requires close and distant visual capability.
• Frequent hands to key ability to input data and information.
• Coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously.

Environmental Conditions: Entails exposure to the following environmental conditions:
• Constant exposure to routine office noises, such as office machines, conversations, foot traffic; moderate electrical or mechanical hazards.
• Some (less than 1/3rd) exposure to loud aircraft noise, moving mechanical parts, fumes, toxic chemicals, airborne particles, risk of electrical shock.
• While performing as RW Pilot, duties are conducted in either indoor or outdoor environments and the RW Pilot must be present at work site to complete the job.

Protective Equipment:
• Nomex full body flight suit
• Leather or Nomex boots
• Aviation helmet – helicopter only
• PPE – latex gloves, goggles and HEPA mask
• Hearing protection (plugs, band or head set)
